I know that many people have not heard about Stagebridge and, if they do, they don't feel like there is anything there to represent them here. Like me, many come here nervous and self conscious; some have even had bad experiences at other places and think it will be the same.

Stagebridge has been a place of healing for me.

I started attending not long after my father passed away, and I needed something in my life that would challenge my shyness. I had support from Stagebridge staff and students when I lost my mother, and I have made lasting friendships here. Even more than that, I am learning all the things that I have dreamed of doing. Stagebridge has made that possible for me.

Over the pandemic, I was able to perform in an online showcase where even my five sisters and two daughters were able to attend and give support. Even a few years ago, I was able to speak and perform at a Stagebridge function—that was the beginning of me opening up and working to conquer my shyness.

Whether inside or outside of classes, the little and the big moments helped me transform into a different person.

New students should not let their fears keep them away from the experience of learning something new. They can become a part of a community where people are supportive and caring and want you to do well.

I personally have been able to overcome some of these fears by being determined to step outside of my comfort zone and fully explore the world of Stagebridge and performing arts. Honestly, I can say that this is the best therapy ever.

To new students, you will not regret coming to Stagebridge because you will experience friendships and a type of growth that extends far outside of these classes. I became comfortable when I decided to embrace Stagebridge with my authentic self, and I felt safe when Stagebridge embraced me back.
