STAGEBRIDGE is the California training base for TimeSlips,
Telling stories is a basic part of being human. The TimeSlips method opens storytelling to those with memory loss by replacing the pressure to remember with encouragement to imagine. Anyone, from activities directors to CNAs to volunteers, can learn to use a catchy photograph to help a group create a story rich in language, laughter and social interaction, and then to write it down and read it back to them. If desired, the stories can also be shared with families and the broader community, to recognize and celebrate the creativity people with Alzheimer’s still have inside. Read a TimeSlips story created by elders with dementia at BACS Adult Day Care/North Oakland Senior Center, with the help Stagebridge staff and volunteers. Order a TimeSlips Storytelling Kit and get started sharing creative imagination with a loved one with memory loss! Questions?
